Lomond Campbell / The Late Machine
From his workshop in the Scottish Highlands, Lomond Campbell invents ingenious music machines. In the forthcoming third issue of our printed journal, Oscillations, he tells us about some of his recent creations. Lomond has also contributed to our accompanying 38-track charity compilation, Peace and Plenty (released mid-June on Bandcamp, with all profits donated to UNICEF). Here’s a live recording of The Late Machine, filmed in Lomond’s studio.
Lomond Campbell lives quietly by a loch in the Scottish Highlands making music and building music machines. He released his debut album Black River Promise then took time out to finish building a studio and workshop called The Lengths where he makes all his work. He released LŪP, his first album on One Little Independent Records, last October and has recently followed up with another album called Lost Loops. He is currently working on a series of new machines and albums which will surface over the next 2 years. Lomond has also produced a few albums for other artists in The Lengths, including Kathryn Joseph and King Creosote.
